A: PROMETHEAN BOARDS ARE USED DURING THE DAY AS AN INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT, FOR EXAMPLE: 2–3 MINUTE VIDEOS ON MARCO POLO RELATED TO THE STUDIES; MOVEMENT ACTIVITIES DURING TRANSITIONS; STORYBOOKS THAT ARE CONNECTED TO THE STUDY; AND LULLABIES DURING REST.

Q: I would like to schedule a tour of the Atlantic Avenue and Van Brunt Site , when can I set up a time to see both spaces?

A: In-person tours are not available at this time for any of our sites. However, we invite you to explore our Atlantic Avenue and Van Brunt locations through virtual walkthroughs available on our Instagram page. Simply scroll to the bottom of this page and click the Instagram icon to visit our school page. You can also view photos of our remaining sites on the View Our Sites webpage under the Our Sites tab.

Q :Is there an outdoor space at the Atlantic site? If not, how do you give the kids exercise during the day?

A: The site includes an indoor gym 🙂, students have 57 minutes of gross motor play , once they acclimate to the class and expectations, they will take neighborhood walks and possibly walk to nearby playgrounds. The walk would be about 5 - 10 minutes. LBPKC has reached out to a neighboring school to see if we can share the playground, we will keep our families posted when we have an update !

Q: Is there an outdoor space at the Red Hook Site ?

LBPKC will go to Mother Cabrini park directly across the street from the site.

A : DEPENDING ON THE CLASS SCHEDULE, AFTERNOONS AFTER LUNCH/REST MAY INCLUDE 30 MINUTES OF GROSS MOTOR PLAY (INDOORS OR OUTDOORS), LEARNING CENTERS/CHOICE TIME, READ ALOUD AND CIRCLE TIME

Q When will we know if our child has been offered a seat for extended care?

A: If your child is expected to begin in September LBPKC will make sure to reach out to you over the summer if your child has been offered a seat. Please note that we are basing the number of classes for extended care off of the parent interest that we receive from the registration forms. We try our best to accommodate our families' needs , as we understand how important extended care is for many of our families.

Q. For extended care, is it true that there needs to be a minimum of 15 kids total for extended care to happen at all?

A. YES, WE NEED AT LEAST 15 STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN EXTENDED CARE IN ORDER TO OPEN AN EXTENDED CARE CLASS AT ANY OF OUR SITES.

Q:  Is it possible to extend extended care to 6pm ?

A. Unfortunately, no LBPKC is  COMMITTED TO A 5:30 PM DISMISSAL FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF.

Q :Does enrolling a student in Extended Care commit them to it for the entire school year? Or is it enrolled in/paid on a monthly basis?

A: Please note that enrollment in the Extended Care program is a full-year commitment, and tuition is not prorated. However, your child may attend Extended Care as often as it suits your family's needs throughout the year.

Q: Is it possible to begin Extended Care at a later point in the school year (not start in September)? I understand this would depend on space.

A: Offers go out before the start of the school year, if you are offered a seat and choose to decline it, the seat may be offered to the next family on the waitlist. Because enrollment is based on available space, we cannot guarantee that a seat will be available later in the school year if you decide to enroll at a later date.
